What data Controla accesses and why
Controla only accesses information needed to provide the product. The exact data we process depends on the systems you connect, the permissions granted by your administrators, and your organization’s configuration.
The Controla device app
The Controla device app powers device security scanning and backup. It is designed to protect company devices and data without monitoring employee activity outside Controla.
What the Controla app processes
The Controla app processes the files, folders, website content, database content, or other assets selected for backup.
How backup content is protected
Backup content is encrypted client-side before storage. This means Controla does not have direct access to the contents of backed-up files.
Why we process it
To create recoverable copies and help restore data if it is deleted, corrupted, or compromised.
Emergency restore support
To support emergency restores, Controla maintains access to an encrypted decryption key. The key is stored offline, physically protected, and governed by strict emergency access procedures.
Your controls
You choose what is backed up and can manage retention and deletion settings.
Integrations
Controla connects to business platforms to find risky settings, exposed files, and security events.
