Controla receives funding from MSB to strengthen Sweden’s digital resilience

We’re proud to share that Controla has been awarded 992,500 SEK in funding from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) as part of a national initiative to strengthen cybersecurity across Sweden’s digital supply chains. The grant is part of a larger investment by NCC-SE, Sweden’s national coordination center for cybersecurity research and innovation, aimed at supporting small and mid-sized companies developing solutions that improve digital resilience.

Out of a highly competitive pool of applicants, 25 projects were selected, all focused on tackling critical areas like change management, continuity planning, and supply chain security.

Why this matters

As our digital dependencies grow, so do the risks tied to system failures, cyberattacks, and vulnerabilities in third-party infrastructure. Small municipalities and small to mid-sized businesses rely on cloud services, third-party tools, and suppliers to keep operations running, but this growing chain of dependencies is often invisible.

That makes it difficult to know:

  • Which systems are truly critical

  • What a failure could lead to

  • And where continuity or backup plans are missing

What we’re building

With MSB’s support, Controla will develop a solution that automatically identifies and visualizes critical systems and dependencies in an organization’s digital environment, with a special focus on risks linked to the digital supply chain. The aim is to give organizations a clear view of how their systems connect, where they’re vulnerable, and how to strengthen resilience before an incident happens.

A milestone for Controla

For us, this is more than just a grant, it’s a vote of confidence in our mission to make cybersecurity simple, automated, and affordable for every organization, regardless of size or resources. We’re excited to contribute to Sweden’s collective effort to build a more resilient digital society.

A big thank you to MSB and NCC-SE for the trust and support. We’re honored to be part of this important initiative.
