We’re beyond excited to share that Oscar Reimer is joining Controla as CTO and co-founder. For those who know him, Oscar’s track record speaks for itself. For those who don’t, here’s why his background is such a strong match for Controla.
From teenage entrepreneur to building Debricked
Oscar has been an entrepreneur since his teenage years, with a lifelong obsession for software engineering and security. In 2018 he co-founded Debricked, born out of research at Lund University and spun off into a company specializing in open source vulnerability management.
Over the next four years, he led a team of 20+ developers, built a world-class product, and grew the company until it was acquired by Micro Focus in 2022.
After stepping away from Debricked in April 2025, Oscar was hungry for a new challenge - to once again build from scratch, move fast, and shape the future of cybersecurity.
Why Controla?
Oscar first joined as an investor in summer 2024, when Controla was still just an idea on paper. Watching the journey unfold, he felt he had to jump in full-time. Why? Because Controla is solving a problem he knows all too well:

At Debricked, Oscar saw it first-hand. You can’t expect founders and employees to constantly check every box and follow up on every policy. Security needs to just happen automatically in the background.

Back to the early days
“I loved leading a large team,” Oscar says, “but I’ve really missed the early days - when the team is tight, iterations are fast, and you can launch meaningful features every day.”
Together with Niklas, Controla’s CPO, Oscar has already been shipping product updates daily for the past few months.
